Open Exhibition Launch Party

The official launch event for the West Studios Open Exhibition 2022!

Come along to help us celebrate art in its many forms and meet some of the artists behind the exhibition.

Upcoming Exhibitions

Open Exhibition

The West Studios Open Exhibition 2022 is a celebration of art in it’s many forms. The exhibition is a collection of work from various artists across the UK, all working in different styles and mediums. There is no theme to the open exhibition so artists were free to submit whatever they wished.

The exhibition will be open to the public Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm. Due to other events taking place at the West Studios centre part of the exhibition may be closed during some days. We recommend calling ahead of your visit to make sure the full exhibition is available to view.

An Exhibition by Hazel Money

Hazel’s exhibition will run from October 3rd - 21st. Further details about the exhibition, including the title, to be announced shortly! Make sure you keep an eye out on the ‘Latest News’ section of our website to read our upcoming meet the artist article.

An Exhibition by Lucie Maycock

Lucie is a community artist. Her day-to-day work focus’ on helping others to be creative or creating art whilst sticking to a brief given to her by clients. The focus of this exhibition is to help Lucie focus of being creative for herself and produce the type of art she wants to make. Lucie’s exhibition will run from 18th November - 2nd December. More details to be released in the coming weeks!

Dance Classes

JAZZ TECHNIQUE

Our ever popular Jazz Technique aims to further dancers training, focusing on dancing for fun, fitness and self improvement.
It is aimed at people with previous dance experience- whether you've danced throughout your childhood and are wanting to reintroduce yourself back to the dance world or whether you are a dancer working professionally in the industry wanting to maintain technique- we will accommodate to your needs.
It is ideal for dancers just wanting to dance without the added extra costs of shows and examinations.
Mondays and Wednesdays - 7:20pm – 8:20pm

SASS & HEELS

Sass & Heels embraces nothing but female empowerment and girl power!
A brand new routine is learnt each week aiming to increase confidence of walking and dancing in heels whilst bringing out your inner sass to a playlist of all your favourite diva hits!
Grab your girls, bring your heels and get ready to strut your stuff in the class with the ultimate girl gang vibes! Guaranteed to kick those midweek blues and leave you feeling good and oozing with confidence!

We have a range of rooms and hireable space to suit the needs of any type of booking. Whether you need a space suitable for sports, dance, drama, yoga, choir, or something else we have a space suitable for you! Community groups and charities get a 20% discount on all rooms with the West Studios spaces.

MEET WITH CLIENTS OR HOST A TEAM AWAY DAY…

Our standard meeting rooms are the perfect spaces to meet with clients or hold team away days. Each room comes with a computer, projector and free Wi-Fi. Layouts of the rooms can be changed to match your needs and refreshments and catering are available on request.

A SPACE FOR CONFERENCES AND SHOWS…

The Studio Theatre consists of a centre stage with surround seating, backstage access, projector and professional lighting and sound. The space is ideal for dance shows, community theatre and touring shows, and business conferences.

GET YOUR AUDIO SORTED…

Wanting to create some audio-based content? Our brand new recording facility Infirmary Records is now available to hire, boasting a 32inch audient inline mix console and custom built live space, there’s no better place to record your content. Perfect to record audio adverts, voiceovers, or your next musical release.


Updates from the tenants

Junction Arts

On the 10th & 11th September Junction Arts and the Derbyshire County Council Countryside Service present the 10th Anniversary Tapton Lock Festival!

Join us outdoors along the beautiful banks of the Chesterfield Canal as we come together at Tapton lock with a celebration of theatre, music and dance, arts and crafts workshops, stalls, a climbing wall, ‘’have a go’ canoes, boat rides and much more! The festival brings the local community together to reconnect people with nature and the beautiful outdoors, whilst creating treasured memories with families and friends.

Dave Elsom

Dave is our newest tenant, joining us in August!

Dave, also known as Sombrero Printmaking, is a print artist mainly focused on lino-printing.

“I've loved being the newest resident in the studios and have really enjoyed having space to make new creations and to meet lots of the other creative people who work there.”

The picture to the right is one of the first prints Dave made in his new studio.
