A poetry workshop by Tyler Turner

In this wintry session, we will wrap ourselves up in poetry that embodies the magic of the season. As we engage in the ritual of writing, we will consider the rituals that we engage in each winter and use them as prompts to inspire our own poetry.

Gekkota Christmas Cracker - A Night of Comedy Improv.

Gekkota Arts provides an evening of festive fast-paced improvised comedy. Performing classic sketches and creating scenes with the help of the audience.

DANCE CLASSES BASED AT WEST STUDIOS

JAZZ TECHNIQUE

Our ever popular Jazz Technique aims to further dancers training, focusing on dancing for fun, fitness and self improvement.
It is aimed at people with previous dance experience- whether you've danced throughout your childhood and are wanting to reintroduce yourself back to the dance world or whether you are a dancer working professionally in the industry wanting to maintain technique- we will accommodate to your needs.
It is ideal for dancers just wanting to dance without the added extra costs of shows and examinations.
Mondays and Wednesdays - 7:20pm – 8:20pm

SASS & HEELS

Sass & Heels embraces nothing but female empowerment and girl power!
A brand new routine is learnt each week aiming to increase confidence of walking and dancing in heels whilst bringing out your inner sass to a playlist of all your favourite diva hits!
Grab your girls, bring your heels and get ready to strut your stuff in the class with the ultimate girl gang vibes! Guaranteed to kick those midweek blues and leave you feeling good and oozing with confidence!
Wednesdays - 8:30pm – 9:20pm

Please Note - 'Jazz Technique' and 'Sass & Heels' are run by an external company and West Studios is only the venue for the classes.

Venue Showcase Networking Event

West Studios third networking event gives you the opportunity to view the hireable spaces of the college and talk to industry experts to make sure you get the best out of any space hired. Then you will be given the opportunity to meet the other guests, network and build connections.

Make sure to come down and take a look at our gallery-shop for a range of cards, gifts and quirky items. Our stock comes from a range of small independent businesses, many of which are from Derbyshire & South Yorkshire.

The gallery-shop is open Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm. We are also open Saturday & Sundays on the following dates in November & December.

• Bolsover Lantern Parade 2021
  Junction Arts are proud to say that we will be proudly shining a light in Bolsover again this year along with a community of extraordinary lantern makers for the return of the Bolsover Lantern Parade!

  This family tradition will light up the grounds of Bolsover Castle before taking flight through the streets of the town, creating a memorable November night for everyone. If you are a spectator, or a lantern carrier, this event is sure to brighten up your night!
  Date: 27th November 2020
  Location: Parade starts from Bolsover Castle, parades around the town to finish at the cenotaph in the market square.

Promoting your small creative business

West Studios' second networking event is designed to help creative professionals understand the best method of getting media coverage for their business. This events guest speaker is Phil Bramley, editor of the Derbyshire Times.

The annual Open Exhibition is open for public viewing until Thursday 23rd September. The exhibition is a celebration of art in it’s various forms. The exhibition features a range of work from artists far & wide. Opening times for the exhibition is the same as the shop, listed above.
