Lighting the way

Lighting the way 2020 (1).jpg

To replace the beloved Bolsover Lantern Parade tradition this year, Junction Arts has created ‘Lighting The Way’; a special socially distanced event for you and your family so you can create lanterns of hope in your home. For the past 26 years we have celebrated the coming of winter by creating lanterns with the Bolsover community in a festival of light. Thousands of people line the streets of Bolsover to watch our annual Lantern Parade as families and people of all ages carry their lit lanterns around the town. Unfortunately, the parade can’t take place as normal due to Covid-19, so instead we hope you will join us to create and light a lantern in your home as a symbol of celebration, union and hope. We are looking forward to celebrating Bolsover’s lantern tradition in these challenging times and seeing your fantastic lanterns light up online on Saturday 28 November 2020. Find out more here.

If you are able to make a Christmas gift to Junction Arts this December, your donation could be doubled!

During 2020, Junction Arts face to face workshops and events had to be cancelled or quickly adapted. But this didn’t and hasn’t stopped us! Now more than ever, our communities need the chance to learn new skills, build stronger communities and be creative. Together, we can make this happen.

Starting on #GivingTuesday, from 12noon on 1st December 2020, for one week only, your donations could be doubled! Help us hit our target £4000 in one week, 1st-8th December and make a difference to the increasing number of people feeling isolated and alone.

You must donate through the Big Give Website during the week from 12noon Tuesday 1st December until 12noon Tuesday 8th December to have your donation doubled. To be reminded when you can donate, please contact hannah@junctionarts.org.

Head to the Junction Arts website to find out about our projects and how you can get involved.
